
In Memory of Max J. Nelson
Max John Nelson, age 74, of St. Croix Falls, WI, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the St. Croix Falls Medical Center.
Max was born March 29, 1952 in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Vernon and Lila (Pigman) Nelson. He graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1970. He attended tech school and received a certificate in boiler maintenance.
Max began work at St. Croix Falls Hospital as a custodian. While working here, he met his future wife, Sharon. Max and Sharon (Christensen) were married May of 1979 and the two settled in Wolf Creek Township until 1999, before moving to St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Max worked at the plastic company in Lindstrom, St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, a printing press in St. Paul, all before his last role as a maintenance engineer at Centennial Schools. He retired in 2012.
Max loved to go out hunting and fishing. No matter the season, warm or cold, he enjoyed being out catching stuff. He was a big animal lover, and when it came to football, was always rooting for the Packers!
Max is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; sons, Daniel (Anne), and Tyler; brother, Joe (Jodi) Nelson; sisters, Judy (John) Parenteau, Julie (Tom) Ward, and Jody (Bill) Hall; and family dog, Bullwinkle.
Max is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Joyce; and brothers-in-law, Lee and Larry Christensen.
Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola, WI. Visitation one hour prior.
