Max R. Thompson, 87 of Exeland, died on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home.

He is survived by his wife Lois, 3 sons; Randy (Ann) of Williston, ND, Keith (Janelle) of Ladysmith and Ron (Jackie) of Exeland, 1 daughter; Maxine Morgan (Kevin Brock) of Granton, WI, 5 grandchildren; Max Morgan, Adam Thompson, Amanda Shimko, Doug Thompson and Mackenzie Thompson, 3 great-grandchildren; Angel, Hannah and Emma, 2 brothers; Russell of Exeland and Donald (Faye) of Winter, 3 sisters; Pauline (Cliff) Anderson of Darlington, WI, Mary (Frank) Parsons of Monroe, WA and Lorie Cohoon of Exeland and 3 sisters-in-law; Janet, Sue and Elaine Thompson.

Due to the COVID pandemic, the service will only be open to relatives of the Thompson and Halberg families. Masks will be required. Due to the safety precautions, no meal will be served.

The funeral service for Max's family will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Bruce with Rev. Larry Sturgis officiating. Visitation for family will be held from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday at the Church.

Burial will follow the service at Windfall Cemetery in Exeland. Military Honors will be provided by the Exeland American Legion.
