Michael “Mike” Albert Haas Age 77, of Birchwood, WI, died Thursday, July 25, 2024 in Barron, WI. He was born on February 5, 1947 in Rice Lake to Albert and Thelma (Skar) Haas. Mike graduated from Birchwood High School in 1965 and then attended and graduated from UW Eau Claire in Chemistry. He was married to Kathleen “Kathy” Cahill on July 11, 1984 in Madison, WI. Mike worked as a chemist in Madison and then retired as Director of the State Crime Lab in Wausau, WI for the State of Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved following the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Haas; a son, Jon (Mary) Haas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Thelma Haas.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, August 5, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Sue Eidahl officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Birchwood Food Pantry.
