
In Memory of Mick Givens
Mick Givens 77, of Sarona, WI, died Saturday, November 29, 2025. He was born on October 6, 1948 in Peru, Indiana to Print Givens, Jr. and Ruth Sole.
Mick graduated from Wabash High School in Wabash, Indiana. He was married to Carole on July 23, 1977 in New Port Richey, Florida. Mick was the third generation in telecommunications, starting in 1966 as a cable splicer, owning his own company,and later becoming a technician and district manager.
From 1995 until his retirement in 2012, he served as the Cable Director of the Rice Lake Public Access Channel and was inducted into the Wisconsin Community Media Hall of Fame. He was involved in his community in every aspect. Most recently as a member of the Town of Long Lake Planning Commission, and served as the Town of Long Lake Clerk and later as Chairman. Mick was the patriarch of the family and was active in raising and supporting his family.
He enjoyed being outdoors - hunting, fishing, making maple syrup, foraging and always having a campfire. He was hardworking, was a “bit” opinionated, stubborn, reliable and incredibly intelligent. He will be remembered for his dedication, loyalty and integrity.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Givens; five sons, Hilton “Print” Givens, Cory (Dina) Givens, Justin (Bridget) Givens, Leighton Givens (Ashley Trojan) and Trent Givens (Keasha Wilcox); six grandchildren, Chantel (Matthew) Blaine, Caelan Givens (Mike Creighton), Garrett Givens, Levi Givens, Matti Givens, and Hanna Givens; a great grandson, Theodore Blaine; two brothers, WIlliam.(Lisa) Ihnen and John Givens; a sister, Maureen (Jimmy) Sparks; and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Print Givens, Jr. and Ruth Connell.
Funeral Services will be held 5PM Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Rev. Rodger Prois officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-5PM Wednesday, December 17 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals.
