In Memory of Mildred D. Black
July 9, 1931 - June 13, 2017
Mildred D. Black, age 85, of Trego, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Spooner Health. She was born July 9, 1931 in the town of Chicog, WI, the daughter of Ben and Blanche (Mack) Lemon. She was united in marriage to James A. Black on August 1, 1963 in Spooner.
Mildred drove semi-truck over the road as a team with her husband for many years. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, which included embroidery, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was also a good gardener and liked to hunt deer with her husband. More than anything, Mildred loved babies and was always ready to hold and love on any baby.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James of Trego; her children, Twila (Walter) Sleva of Chicog, WI, Nancy (Glen) Marsh of Pahrump, NV, Collyn (Wes) Huffer of Trego, WI, David (Bev) Barrett of Colby, WI, Ricky Black of Trego, WI and Tamera Heffron of Bayport, MN; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her sons, Donald and Garlyn Barrett; and her brothers, Floyd and Ellis Lemon.
A committal service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Mildred’s name be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
