In Memory of Nancy A. Nystrom

April 28, 1941 - May 20, 2026

Nancy Nystrom, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 20th surrounded by the love of her family. Born in 1941 in Hayward, Nancy graduated from Hayward High School and soon married her high school sweetheart, Dale Nystrom, beginning a beautiful life together built on faith, family, and devotion.

In the 1960s, Nancy and Dale made their home in Spooner, where they became deeply rooted in the community. While Dale worked as a barber, Nancy dedicated herself to caring for their home and family. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lovingly served her church in many ways throughout the years — as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, worship leader, and active participant in Christian Women’s groups. Together, Nancy and Dale also opened their home for Bible studies, creating a welcoming place filled with faith, friendship, and encouragement.

Later, Nancy and Dale proudly owned and operated an American Family Insurance agency together, where Nancy’s warm personality and caring spirit touched many lives.

Nancy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved painting, reading, sewing, gardening, and decorating her home. She was rarely seen without a cup of coffee in hand and cherished her many coffee clutches and conversations shared around the kitchen table with family and friends. She loved being a grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless pride and happiness to her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Nystrom and her parents Harold & Evelyn Turnbull.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Jim Turnbull (Sharon); her children Bonnie Granzin (Bryan), Phillip Nystrom & Alison Nickell (Scott). 11 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Nancy will be remembered for her strong faith, gentle heart, welcoming spirit, and unwavering love for her family and community.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has reached out with prayers, visits, cards, kind words, and support during this difficult time. Your love and compassion have meant so much to our family and have brought great comfort. A special thank you to all those who cared for her so lovingly throughout her journey.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held in July.
