In Memory of Nancy Haines


April 23, 1934 - July 12, 2021

Nancy Cecilia Haines, age 87, a resident of Hertel, Wisconsin, passed away at her home with her family at her side on Monday, July 12, 2021.

Nancy was born on April 23, 1934, in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Joseph and Elsie (Auge) O’Rourke.

Nancy was raised and attended school on the west side of St. Paul. On May 5, 1951 Nancy was married to her former spouse, Thomas Haines, the couple had seven children together whom they raised in White Bear Lake, MN. Nancy spent her adult years living and working in St. Paul, MN. After her retirement she moved to Hertel, WI to live with her family. During her working years, Nancy took great pride being a personal caregiver in the Home Health Care field. Nancy was a fun loving person, who could light up any room she walked into. She was a passionate participant of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, she was known for her enthusiastic birthday phone calls and enjoyed travelling around the U.S .and British Virgin Islands visiting family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her children: Patrick (Darlene) of West St. Paul, MN, Thomasine (Richard) Stahn of White Bear Lake, MN, Constance Barry of Spooner, WI, Georgianna (John) Hurt of Hertel, WI, Steven (Juliette) of Webster, WI, 9 grandchildren: Amy, Aron, Anna, Katie, Alexphia, Shavon, Chester, William, Kayla, great grandchildren: Ethan, Elauria, Elias, Tyler, Baylee, Sophia, Cooper, Gavin, Gabriana, Cash, Shamari, Shamaya, Jackson, Winston and Cohan. Sisters; Marjorie “Peaches” DeGraw, Theresa Crane, and many nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Nancy is preceded in death by her son Brian, infant son Mark, her parents, brothers and sisters: Maryann, Joseph, Patricia, Cliff, Joan, Jacqueline, Cleo and Sally.

Funeral services for Nancy Haines will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 1pm, at the Spooner Funeral Home with visitation being at the Funeral Home from 11 until 1pm. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Interment will take place at a later date at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in White Bear Lake, MN.
