In Memory of Nancy L. Benson
Nancy L. Benson, age 72 of Clear Lake, WI, formerly of Woodville, WI, died on December 24, 2024 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
Nancy Lorraine Benson was born on March 8, 1952 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the daughter of Donald & Loraine (Pagel) Benson. She was raised on a farm in rural Bruce, WI, which is fitting because of her love for animals. Nancy helped her father with the records for the milking cows on the farm and she could look at a young calf and know who the mother was and who the sire was. After graduating from Bruce High School in 1970, Nancy moved to the Twin Cities and was employed at Longyear Mining Company where she worked in sales and as an executive secretary. After a long relationship with Dennis D. Reinhold, they were married on July 5, 1991 in Stillwater, MN and together they made their home in Woodville, WI. During this time, Nancy worked at the University of Minnesota as a secretary who specialized in writing proposals for grants and financial assistance. In her spare time, Nancy loved to cook and liked to try new recipes. She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, reading and playing word games. She was a great Scrabble player, and you were very lucky if you ever beat her in a game. Nancy’s love for animals continued throughout her life as she had many cats and dogs that she cared for and rescued. She had been a resident of Clear Lake since 2021 and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Donald & Loraine Benson.
She is survived by her husband Dennis Reinhold, her step-daughter Tonna Reinhold, and brothers and sisters: Cindy (Thomas) Buenning, Patti Benson, Richard (Roxanne) Benson, and Christian (Kim) Benson.
There will be a Celebration of Nancy’s life at a later date with interment at the Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, WI.
