October 17, 1936 - March 11, 2024

Nancy Lee Pedersen passed away peacefully with her 3 daughters at her side on March 11, 2024, at the age of 87.

Nancy’s early years were spent moving through the towns of Cushing, Bone Lake, and Balsam Lake where she attended local schools. She completed her education in 1954 before returning to St. Paul to start her career. Nancy worked for the Fire and Marine Insurance Company, Later moving to Wilmington, Illinois, where she took a position as a clerk typist for the government.

It was during a trip home that Nancy’s father introduced her to Erik Pedersen who would later become her lifelong partner. Their first date was at the Luck-E tavern on New Year's Eve. Leading to their marriage in November 1959. Nancy and Erik built a life together in Luck and were blessed with 3 daughters, Lisa, Mary, and Amy.

Nancy took immense pride in her 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play sports and attending their band and choir concerts.

Throughout her life, Nancy worked various jobs, including a stint at the Yo-Yo factory and typing term papers for extra income. Her dedication to her family was her return to the workforce after her children were in school. She started in the laundry department at the United Pioneer Home and eventually became the receptionist at the front desk, a role she enjoyed for 22 years until health issues prompted her retirement.

Nancy had a passion for camping, she secured a seasonal spot at Leesome Lake Campground in Spooner. After the campground closed she missed camping. Amy bought some land on Lamont Lake. Nancy purchased a She shed and she was able to camp again, (and camped until November Last year). Nancy enjoyed the simple pleasures of sharing meals over a campfire, and watching her family work and play.

Nancy thought a golf cart would be a great idea until she forgot to charge it and was towed many times. She owned 3 more UTV’s putting on over 20,000 miles in all.

Nancy found joy in assembling puzzles, Knitting baby sweaters, hats, and mittens, hunting for treasures at garage sales, and playing left, right center with her friends.

Nancy’s journey may have come to a close in the same town where it began, but her spirit will live on through the lives of those she touched.
