April 24, 1984  -  May 1, 2017

Nicholas Kyle Thalacker, age 33, of Dewey Township, Burnett County, WI passed away suddenly late Monday afternoon, May 1st, 2017 in Spooner.

He was born in Spooner on the evening of April 24th, 1984 to Gary A. and Marcy J.  (Berg) Thalacker.  Nick attended pre-school in Siren followed by attendance at the Shell Lake Public Schools, graduating in May of 2003.  He went on to attend WITC - Rice Lake to secure his Business Administration Degree - thereafter planning to start his own business and returned home to Burnett County.

Nick was quiet, loving, very creative, smart, and always there for his family and friends.  He was a gentle, resilient soul with a big heart - going the extra mile, always ready with a warm, strong hug whenever needed.

Nick dearly loved a wide variety of music.  He played the bass guitar, eventually learned to play the drums and ultimately wrote his own songs.  He relaxed by watching movies/videos and hockey games, playing video games, hanging out with his close friends and family, gardening, grilling /cooking and being outdoors … even if it was just enjoying a camp fire at night in the pit he built near his garden. He was a good marksman and enjoyed target shooting.  He especially liked to fish.  He had a unique sense of humor and used it to help others feel comfortable, evoking laughter and smiles. He was a blessing to many lives – truly a gift to those who knew him well.  He will be dearly missed.

Nick is survived by his loving Parents - Gary and Marcy.  Grandmother -Laura Thalacker.  Uncles - Steve Thalacker (Sue), Mark Thalacker, Gerry Thalacker (Magaly).  Aunt - Myrtle Lehman. Plus an extended family of cousins and their families.  Special Sweatheart - Britteny Hibbard. Close inner circle of friends - Paul Campton (Crystal), Josh Java (Beth), John Bodzislaw (Angie), along with their children; plus numerous other friends throughout his life.  His dog friend - Boogy.

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandmother - Gladys Thalacker. Grandfathers - Gerald Thalacker, George Berg. Grandmother - Clara Berg. Uncle - Harlen Berg. Pets - Duke, Bob and Muttley.

The Memorial Service honoring his life will be conducted on Friday, May 12th, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner with Pastor Russ Leeper officiating.  A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church.  Spooner Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
