In Memory of Norbert A. Gundry


September 16, 1937 - June 22, 2026

Norbert Gundry, age 88, a resident of Stone Lake, Wisconsin, passed away Monday evening, June 22, 2026, at Dove Health Care in Spooner, Wisconsin.

Norbert was born on September 16, 1937, in Spooner, Wisconsin to parents Joseph and Delores (Davis) Gundry of Stone Lake.

Norbert’s early years were mostly about farming the “Gundry Farm” until he joined the National Guard and served with the 32nd Division at Fort Lewis, Washington from October of 1961 until August of 1962. Upon his return, he helped on the farm, worked several different jobs, until he began working for the Town of Sand Lake as a Grader Operator, among other jobs. In 1961, he met Darlene Slayton of Springbrook, Wisconsin, and they married on September 29, 1961. To this marriage, they had 3 children.

Norbert had several hobbies, but he loved metal detecting and deer hunting. Norbert and Darlene also put in a lot of docks and boat lifts. He was a jack of all trades with several skills.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years and 9 months, his son Allan (Angela), and son Adam (Darcie), grandchildren: Erica, Aaron, Allan Jr, Alicia, Gareth, great grandchildren: Abigail, Judy, Robert, and Payton. Norbert is preceded in death by a daughter Dianne, parents Delores and Joe Gundry and his brother Bob Gundry.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 2pm at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake. A Celebration of Life for Norbert and Robert Gundry will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at the Stone Lake Fire Hall from 3 until 5pm.
