Patricia “Pat” Morris, age 76, a lifelong resident of Spooner, died on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Weston, Wisconsin.

Pat was born on November 22, 1946, in Spooner to parents Oscar “Ike” and Nina (Genson) Weideman.

She attended and graduated from the Spooner Area School District. After high school, she was united in marriage to Lanny Okonek on September 22, 1965 at the Spooner Catholic Church, and although later divorced, two children were born to this union. On July 14, 1975, she married Frederick “Fred” Morris and they shared 17 years together until his passing in 1992.

Pat was a devoted mother and her life’s focus was on her children, family and friends. She was always thinking of others during difficult or joyous times in their life. She was a very active member of the Spooner United Methodist Church throughout her life. Pat loved animals, cooking and baking for her family and friends, and will be remembered for her awesome sense of humor and having a super positive attitude during life’s struggles.

Pat is survived by her children Michael (Penny) Okonek of Spooner, Tina (Kevin Brimer) Dorner of Shell Lake, 5 grandchildren: Erin (Cody) Knapp, Jamie (John Sikorski) Okonek, Samantha Okonek, Luke Dorner, Dylan Dorner, 5 great grandchildren, first husband Lanny (Joyce) Okonek, and her longtime companion Gordy Osborne.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, sister and second husband Fred Morris.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11am, at the Spooner United Methodist Church with Pastor Ferdinand Serra officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 4-7pm at the Spooner Funeral Home and also from 10-11am, on Thursday at the Church.

A spring interment is planned at the Spooner Cemetery.
