In Memory of Patricia A. Tyo

April 30, 1935 - January 31, 2025

Patricia Ann "Pat" Tyo, 89, of Cumberland died at home, January 31, 2025. She was born April 30, 1935 in Crosby, MN to Anton B. and Ethel M. (Yoder) Snydock. She was married in Duluth, MN on February 27, 1954 to Roland Tyo.

She worked at the family owned grocery store which is where she met Rollie. They were just a few days shy of their 71st wedding anniversary. Pat worked as a switchboard operator and later as a licensed baby-sitter and was highly sought after due to her extraordinary fondness of children.

After retirement Pat and Rollie moved to Tucson, AZ and spent 22 years soaking in the warmth and sunshine. While there, Pat managed as the treasurer of their bowling league, as well as volunteered in their HOA. They eventually felt the tug to return to the north woods to be close to family.

Pat enjoyed collecting all things Disney, especially Mickey Mouse! She dedicated her craft room to her Disney memorabilia. Pat made sure to keep her family and friends warm by knitting them hand made wild-colored treasures.

The past few years, Pat and Rollie could be found waving enthusiastically at the buses full of returning and new students on their way to their first day of the new school year at Cumberland. Her warm, cheerful smile and waving will be certainly missed by more than just her family. Pat was known for her freely given warm hugs; whether you knew you needed one or not.

She is survived by her husband, Rollie Tyo; six children: Randy Tyo, Jeanne (Frank) Barnaby, Kenneth Tyo, Sheri (Tim) Eimermann, Joni (Keith) Bellamy, and Connie (Bill) Lussier; eight grandchildren: Tim, Aubrey, Zack, Wade, Malorie, Mitchell, Chase, and Courtney; five great grandchildren: James, Emily, Aria, Brooks, and Cooper; siblings: Gary (Christine) Snydock, and Wendy (Buzz) Buczynski, nieces, nephews, and many other dear family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy, infant brother, Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, February 6, 2025 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM - Noon Thursday, February 6, 2025.

Pat’s family would like to thank the compassionate team at Marshfield Home Health and Hospice for treating her with such tender family level of care.
