In Memory of Pauline M. Folz
Pauline Marie Folz, age 77, of Cameron, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15th, 2024, in Eau Claire, WI.
She was born on February 10, 1947, in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Chester and Anna Lessard. Pauline lived a life marked by dedication and service. As a hairdresser, she not only styled hair but also uplifted spirits and built lasting connections with her clients and coworkers. Her warmth and skill made her a cherished figure in her community. Later, she worked at McCain Foods in Rice Lake, where she made many friends and earned the nickname ”Grandma Crazy”. After retirement from full time work she worked with her husband Jerry driving cars for Link Motors. For many years Pauline was involved with Boy Scouts. She was awarded the Silver Beaver award, and helped many young men through the years earn the Eagle Scout award in the Blue Hills District. You could also find Pauline helping to organize, or participate in, benefits for community members. Any time someone was in need she would do whatever she could to help out.
On January 18, 1969, she married the love of her life, Jerry Folz. Their union was a testament to devotion, with Jerry's kind-heartedness complementing Pauline's gentle nature. Together, they shared almost 53 years of unwavering support and affection. Pauline was a devoted wife to Jerry; mother to her two sons, Jay (Lisa) Folz and Kevin (Dorothy) Folz, and took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to five grandchildren: Natalee Mattmiller, Jordan Folz, Jami Folz, Zachary Folz, and Jazmin Folz; and great-grandmother to two: Hallee and John Mattmiller. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together. She also loved spending time with her grand-dog Comet, who always brought a smile to her face.
Besides her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren she is also survived by a brother, Larry (Joyce) Lessard; sister, Linda Christensen; and a large extended family, including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 53 years, Jerry Folz; her parents, Chester and Anna Lessard; her parents-in-law, Wilmer & Alma Folz; many brothers-in-law, a nephew, and a niece.
A celebration of Pauline's life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Rice Lake Moose Lodge. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Jerry at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is serving and handling the arrangements for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chippewa Valley Boy Scout Council in honor of Pauline's memory would be appreciated.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Mayo-Eau Claire & Barron for the compassionate care they showed Pauline & the family during her final days.
