Peter Sherwin Quam, age 89, formerly of Shell Lake passed away on August 13, 2024 at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake. He was born January 2, 1935 in Turtle Lake, WI to Benjamin and Margaret Quam.

Peter graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1952, and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was married to Karen Lee Prink, and they had two children, Rebecca and Erika.

Peter began his career at the North Western Bell Telephone Company. His work took them to Puerto Rico, where they lived for four years before moving to Shell Lake, WI in 1978. They then purchased the Shell Lake Phone Company, and later the Siren Phone Company, which are still operated today.

Peter will be dearly missed by his wife, Karen Lee Quam; daughter, Rebecca (Paul) Marten; and grandchildren, Emily, Kayden, and Andrew; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erika Quam; and his parents, Benjamin and Margaret Quam.
