
In Memory of Phillip "Pete" H. Barritt
He was born on January 22, 1928, to Golden and Frances (Foss) Barritt of Barron. He graduated from Barron High School in 1946. Later that fall, he enlisted in the Army and served in the 1st Calvary Division of the United States Army, serving in Tokyo, Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1948 and returned to civilian life in Barron where he worked for the USPS delivering mail for 35 years in the City of Barron.
Pete always had a love of nature and the great outdoors. He enjoyed flying his small plane for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and golfing.
Pete is survived by nephew, Steve (Patty) Barritt of Sauk City, Wisconsin; nieces, Nancy Barritt Iglesias of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Kathy (Ty) Calkins of Janesville, Wisconsin; as well as Mary Barritt, wife of the late nephew, Scott Barritt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Golden and Frances Barritt; brother, Don Barritt and sister-in-law, Virginia Barritt formerly of Cobb, Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank Barron Medical Center–Mayo Health Systems, Monroe Manor, and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
