In Memory of Phyllis Erickson


September 30, 1927 - June 23, 2019

Phyllis Arlene Erickson, 91, of Cumberland, died Sunday, June 23, 2019, at United Pioneer Home. She was born September 30, 1927, in Duluth, MN to Odin and Mildred (Risberg) Williams. After she graduated high school Phyllis was married in McKinley, WI on May 29, 1946, to Carl Erickson who preceded her in death on June 16, 2014.

Phyllis was a wonderful cook and shared her talents first at East Luck School and later at the Pioneer Nursing Home for 24 years. During her retirement years, Phyllis and Carl enjoyed "sneaking off" to the casino, feeding her numerous hummingbirds, growing African violets, traveling, and making several trips to Hawaii. Friday mornings were spent with the girls at the local coffee shop. Phyllis followed the adventures of her grandchildren; whether it was in sports, talents, or the day-to-day excitements.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dale Erickson of New Hope, MN, and Gary (Mary) Erickson of Cumberland; 2 daughters, Jill Cook of Luck, and Nancy Bennett of Rice Lake; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Erickson; 11 grandchildren, Lori, Jerimy, Timothy, Nicholas, Melanie, Ryan, Kirt, Ben, Bill, Andrea and Deanna; 24 great-grandchildren, Cody, Kylie, Bailey, Chloe, Madeline, Greta, Nori, Jonas, Anya, Ueli, Ella, Molly, Liam, Billy, Riley, Wyatt, Hunter, DeAirus, Marquez, Matteo, Kaylin, Parker, Aubrie, and Mason; 1 great-great granddaughter, Avah; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; grandson, Todd; son-in-law, Kevin; and brother, Merle Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, McKinley, WI with Rev. Diane House officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at the church.

Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
