In Memory of Phyllis Hammang

March 17, 1933 - September 5, 2020

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis Hammang, left us Saturday September 5, 2020. We are grateful she was able to pass from this life at home surrounded by many of her family. Phyllis was born on March 17, 1933 in Star Prairie, WI to Joseph and Genevieve (Boucher) Hecht. She grew up in the Timberland area and attended Roosevelt School. She graduated from Somerset High School in 1950 and married Thomas G. Hammang in 1951.

Phyllis worked for the City of Cumberland for many years and when she retired in 1995, the Mayor declared the day as Phyllis Hammang Day. Her Catholic faith was a constant source of strength for her. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Secular Order of the Servants of Mary. Phyllis was known for her baking, particularly her pumpkin bars and banana cake, and her love of walking.

She is survived by her children: Tom (Faith) Hammang, North Hudson, WI; Brad (Patti) Hammang, Rice Lake, WI; Renee (Rich) Capuzzi, Cumberland, WI; David (Renee) Hammang, Cumberland, WI; Dan Hammang; Grandchildren: Nathan (Jenny) Hammang, Eric Hammang, Laura (Mark) Olson, Luke (Jenay) Hammang, Matt (Candice) Hammang, Bryan (Kristina) Capuzzi, Phil (Raya) Capuzzi, Kevin (Buffy) Capuzzi, Kristin Hammang and GreatGrandchildren, Eden, Madison, Austin, McKenzie, Canyon, Emily, Kynnley, Adriana, Grayson and Aiden.
