In Memory of Randy M. Murray


October 30, 1955 - June 19, 2026

Master Sergeant Randy Murray, United States Air Force (Ret.), passed away on June 19, 2026 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was formerly of Chetek, Wisconsin and passed at the age of 70.

He was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on October 30, 1955 to William and Lois (Rich) Murray.

Randy honorably served his country for 22 years, demonstrating exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication throughout his military career. As a Master Sergeant, he was widely respected for his steady guidance, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to the airmen under his supervision. His service stands as a lasting testament to his integrity and devotion to duty.

Outside of his military career, Randy had a deep passion for nature. He truly loved fishing and spending time in the great outdoors, finding great peace and joy on the water. Above all, he cherished his family and was an incredibly proud grandfather.

Randy leaves behind a legacy of love through his three daughters: Jenny (Justin) Olson of Hillsdale, Wisconsin; Amy (Tasha) Murray of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and Becky (Nick) Schroeder of West Fargo, North Dakota. He is also survived by his nine cherished grandchildren: Ali, Bella, Justin Jr., Elizabeth, Jesse, Adler, Melanie, Lincoln, and Hunter; his brothers, Shawn and Tracy; his sister, Tamie; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Lois and daughter, Melanie.

A service to honor Randy’s life and military career will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Swede Cemetery in the Town of Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
