Raymond L Shimek, 80, of Sarona passed away on October 30, 2025, at Dove Healthcare. He was born September 17, 1945, in Sarona, WI to Frank and Mary (Wenzel) Shimek.

Ray was a man of many names with “Model A. Ray”, “Jumper” and “Otto Schmidlapper” being just a few. He loved joining in the various parades sporting his collection of classic Fords with the Model A being at the top.

He attended numerous car shows and swap-meets during the summer. In the winter, he could be found in his Crappie Jalopy on local lakes ice fishing. Ray also enjoyed hunting, especially during Thanksgiving.

Left to remember his memory are Linda Page, Lori Page, Norman Page Jr., Justin Page, Timothy Page, Abigail Haldorson; and many other friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: John and Robert

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Nov 8, 2025, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sarona with Father Papi Reddy Yeruva officiating. Burial will be in Sarona Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Justin Page, Timothy Page, Chad Haldorson, Bob Kaufman, Norman Page Jr., and Bruce Bosch. Military honors accorded by the Shell Lake Honor Guard and the Wisconsin Military Honors Team.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
