Reta Ann (Schaar) Moe, age 90, of rural Frederic, WI passed away May 31, 2026 at Cumberland Care and Rehab. She was born August 12, 1935, in Dakota County, MN, the eldest of two, to Ervin Dlaniel Schaar and Georgie (Todd) Schaar. She graduated from Frederic High School and married Roy Willard Moe on March 27, 1954. They were married 60 years and had four children.

Reta enjoyed doing crafts, arranging flowers, gardening (both vegetable and flower), canning her produce, and visiting with family and friends. She was a talented crocheter who made many doilies and other creations. She enjoyed walking along road ditches and the gravel pit, collecting agates. She had several jars of beautiful ones. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and was known for all the hummingbirds that she had all summer. She was well remembered in the community for always having coffee and homemade baked goods ready whenever Roy and whoever was in his garage at the time came in for coffee break. She and Roy often played 500 (cards) with other couples as well as at card parties. They were both very involved with the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary for many years, including serving as officers. She will be remembered as being kind, loving, and generous.

Reta is lovingly survived by her children Lou Ann Mayhew, Georgette Gruel, Ervin Moe (wife Jeannine), and LeRoy Moe (wife Keum Soon), five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Daniel Schaar, and sons-in-laws Robert Mayhew and Ray Gruel.

Services will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00AM with a visitation from 10 to 11 before the service at the funeral home.
