Richard Allen Kaiser, age 63, of Trego, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at his home with family at his side

Richard was born January 18, 1955 in Eau Claire, WI the son of Charles and Dorothy (Kelly) Kaiser.  He was raised in Eau Claire and graduated from Regis High School in 1973.  Richard went onto college at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, WI for Hospitality Management.  Kaiser worked as a bartender in several Eau Claire area bars including Stafne’s and 5 O’Clock Club. His father had been part owner of the business known as Howard Johnsons; in 1984 the business was bought by the Kaiser Family and Quality Inn, O’Learys Pub and Charlie K’s Restaurant was formed.  He continued to work with his family for several years before leaving to work at Hallie Golf Course and there he met his future wife, Elaine Dekan. Richard and Elaine moved to Stone Lake, WI in 2001 fulfilling a dream to live in the Northwoods and were married on September 28, 2002 at their home. Richard worked at Couderay Riverside Golf Course for several years before retiring.  Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching wildlife and playing cribbage. 

Kaiser had an outgoing personality with a great sense of humor that brought laughter into his world.  He will be deeply missed by many.

Richard is survived by his wife, Elaine; two brothers, Charles (Marsha) Kaiser, James (Linda) Kaiser, both of Eau Claire; one sister, Jayne (Chuck) Plumer of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Bear.

A memorial gathering will be held for Richard on Saturday, March 10th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Rosewood Room at Americas Best Value Inn, Eau Claire.  A special time of sharing will be held at 5:00.  Interment will be in the St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, WI in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to a charity of your choice or we have chosen to donate all gifts to Shriner’s Hospital for Children and Wounded Warriors.
