Richard Napolean Cyr, 86, of Birchwood, WI died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home in the loving care of his wife, Pat, after a long and courageous battle with both cancer and Alzheimer's disease. He was born December 18, 1930 in Birchwood, WI to Napolean and Bertha (Cannon) Cyr and graduated from Birchwood High School in 1949. He honorably served his country with the Air Force during the Korean War as a Senior Radio Mechanic.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Leif Eriksen and his brother-in-law, Rudolph "Butch" Wegner. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Pat Cyr; former wife, Carole Boedeker; daughters: Deb (Bob Zakaras) Cyr and Cindy (Greg) Digney; grandsons: Ryan and Grant Digney; sister, Ardis Wegner of Wausau; sisters-in-law: Mary (John) Manning and Dawn (Steve) Northway; brothers-in-law: Donald and Patrick Ellwood and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church - Birchwood, Celebrated by Father Ed Anderson with full military honors accorded by the Birchwood American Legion and the Wisconsin State Honors Team. There will be a visitation from 11:30 to 1:00 Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lakeview Medical Center - Hospice, Rice Lake, WI, or the hospice of your choosing.

Dick's family would like to offer their heartfelt thank you to the LMC - Hospice team for their caring support and guidance throughout this difficult journey.
