In Memory of Richard Nichols
Richard “Dick” Lee Nichols Age 80, of Birchwood, WI, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in Marshfield, WI.
He was born on September 12, 1941 in Scottville, Michigan to Walter and Elizabeth (Mahoney) Nichols.
Dick graduated from the Mason County High School Michigan in 1959. He was married to Janice Olson in November 9, 1963 in Onalaska, WI. Dick was a truck route sales driver for Jay’s Foods for 30 years and then worked for Birchwood Lumber Veneer for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, was a rescue diver and loved watching NASCAR, football and baseball. Member of the Silver Lake Fire Department, Silver Lake Sportsman Club, was a Lakeland Little League Coach/manager, and village board member. Dick loved helping out his friends and senior citizens. He was the sponsor of an annual fishing contest called the Tricky Dick’s Big Mahoski Ice Fishing Derby for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Nichols; 3 children, Scott (Beth) Nichols, Jeff (Andrea) Nichols and Kim (John) Uzzardo; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie and Nick; a great grandson, Morrison; 4 brothers, Jerry (Alba), Fred (Bev), Dan (Jan) and Jim; many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth; and a brother, Roger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 13, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, Father Ed Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
