Richard Stanley Lauring, age 82 of St Croix Falls, WI passed away September 10, 2022.

Richard was born to Stanley and Muriel Lauring on February 9, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MN.

Richard graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN in 1958, attended Itasca Junior College from 1958-1960. Richard went on to the University of Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota Pharmacy School in 1963. Richard served in the US Army and South Dakota Air Guard from 1964-1969.

In 1963 Richard met Marjorie Huls while working at Walgreens in downtown Minneapolis. They were married on July 16th, 1966 and blessed with 3 daughters.

Richard lived and worked as a Pharmacist in Sioux Falls, SD from 1965-1968 when he purchased Truman Drug in Truman, MN. Richard was very active in the Truman community. He served on the Truman School Board and was involved in the Lions Club, American Legion of Truman, Truman Commercial Club and Truman Gun Club. Richard also worked for the Madelia, MN Hospital as their pharmacist for many years.

Richard retired and closed Truman Drug after 38 years and moved to their retirement lake home in Cushing, WI. Richard continued to work as a relief pharmacist in the Western Wisconsin area for many years. He was a member of the Cushing American Legion and First Lutheran Church in Cushing, WI. Moved to St. Croix Falls, WI December 2021.

Richard and Marge traveled extensively around the world and visited all 7 continents, Richard enjoyed working on his many antique cars, flying his airplane, playing tennis and swimming. He liked spending time outdoors including hunting, snowmobiling and trap shooting. He had a passion for history and was an encyclopedia of knowledge he always enjoyed sharing.

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years Marjorie Lauring, his children Heidi (Jim) Ackerman, Holly (Blaine) Drayfahl and Heather Lauring; grandchildren Greta Ackerman, Noah Ackerman, Amelia Drayfahl and Lucas Drayfahl; sisters, Elizabeth Grimmer and Lois Lauring; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Muriel Lauring.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Cushing, WI at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 with visitation beginning one hour prior at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Richard's name to Cushing American Legion Post 269, PO BOX 454, Cushing WI 54006.
