Robert “Bob” L. LeMoine, 90, of Spooner passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on November 3, 1927 to Lawrence and Etta (Pauley) LeMoine in Sioux City, IA.  He hitched a ride up to his Grandparents farm in Earl and decided to stay.  When he was 15, Bob got a job at Baker farm in Madge and by the time he was 16, he was herdsman.  He worked for Wests in Sarona, Barron Electric, Sawmill in Haugen, Spooner Feed Mill, and Locker Plant until 1967.  He farmed his entire life in the Spooner Area.  He also worked at Benson Thompson for the past 50 years beginning in 1966.  In the early 1950s, Bob worked with Arnie Drost for the Washburn County Sheriff’s Department, and he was also a deputy for Burnett County.  In 1965 he worked for Art Lehman in refrigeration.  Bob was the last remaining original member of The Spooner Rodeo and has been involved for the past 64 years.   He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Bob is survive by: his wife, Dorothy of Spooner, five children; Linda (Tom) Gurtner of Spooner, Laurie (John) Camp of Rice Lake, WI, Lorna (Randy) Moore of Park Falls, WI, Londa (Mick) Olsen of Rice Lake, and Robert (Julie) LeMoine of Cameron, WI, 33 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Krantz of Rice Lake, one brother, Keith (Geraldine) LeMonie of Marquette, MI, six step-children; Kevin (Laurie) Smith of Shell Lake, Theresa Brunslik of Cameron, Rodney Smith of St. Croix Falls, Trudy Meister of Shell Lake, Kenny Smith of Spooner, and Tania Milton of Shell Lake, and many foster children that were raised as their own children.  He was preceded by; his parents, wife Valeria, and two sisters, Lauretta Siede and Norma Diekman.

A funeral service will be held for Bob at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11 AM with Pastor Dan Hermanson officiating.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at The Spooner Funeral Home from 4 until 8 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.  Burial will be in The Spooner Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to The Spooner Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left for Bob’s family at www.bratley-nelsonchapels.com.
