Robert Michael Garcia, age 53, of Schofield, WI formerly of Hayward, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home.

Robert, also known as Bobby or Rob, depending on when you met him, was born January 9, 1971, in Hayward, the son of Michael and Donna (Malosh) Garcia. He grew up in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School in 1990. Rob worked as a mechanic with his father through high school and later became part owner of Garcia’s Auto Repair. He worked as a mechanic for over 35 years with his father until they closed the shop. After that Rob went to work at Hanson Tire in Hayward until he moved to Schofield with his girlfriend, Kim Laporte and their cat, Shadow. Rob has been working at Piper Products, Inc. in Wausau for the last three years. He was a kind soul who would find pleasure helping strangers on the roadside and rescuing someone when they needed help. Rob led a leisurely lifestyle and enjoyed family gatherings, and cookouts. He enjoyed his movies, country music and working on his trucks. Rob loved his 4x4 plow truck and had a passion for the Hodag 4-Wheelers and ATV-UTV Club. He truly enjoyed spending time with his friends on the woodland trails and scenic tours on the weekends.

He is survived by his siblings, Marvin “Rusty” Garcia, Tammy (Ron Atchison) Garcia and Shawn Garcia; aunts, uncles & nephews; and his girlfriend Kim Laporte.

Rob was preceded in death by his father Mike, his loving mother Donna and his grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, August 23, 2024, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Pastor Gary Hilgendorf will officiate. Burial will be in Whitefish Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
