January 2, 1933 - July 4, 2017

Robert ("Bob") William Stenfors passed away on July 4th, 2017 following a long illness.  Bob is the youngest child of eleven and is preceded in death by siblings: Jalmar, Edward, Walter, Leonard, Albert, Bertha Carlson, Gilbert, Roy, Alice Carlson and Arnie along with parents Victor and Hilja Stenfors.

Bob was born in Foster City, Michigan and attended Suomi College and Michigan Tech graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering.  He then attended Stanford University and earned a Masters in Civil Engineering.  He worked for the Army Corp of Engineers for 32 years.  He enjoyed his residence in Tucson, Arizona for the last 20 years in winters and Dunn Lake, Spooner Wisconsin in summers.

Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy, and daughters Jill Strykowski (Paul), Julie Hause (Tim) and Mary Stenfors.  Bob loved his grandchildren Ben Strykowski (Lauren), Rachel Strykowski (Steve Grossheim), Andrew Strykowski, Jessica Hause, Jon Hause, Abbie Hause, Sam Hause, Tyler Keyes and Logan Keyes as well as great-grandchild Elle Strykowski.  Bob and Judy also have a special German son and daughter Gerhard and Rosie Lemmert.

Bob was known for his love of his Finnish ancestry (fondly teaching each grandchild how to count to 10 in Finnish!).  His sense of humor matched his strong logistical and mathematical intelligence.  He loved to play cribbage, the accordion, work in his garden, hunt in the UP with his brothers and spend time with his grandchildren.  He died peacefully at his home on the lake, his favorite place.  He will be dearly missed for his kindness, humor, love of nature and his family.
