Roberta “Bertsie” Ann Prairie Jeffrey Age 79, of Birchwood, WI, died Monday, June 14, 2021 in Birchwood surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 9, 1941 in Kankakee, Illinois to Frisco and Margaret (Keen) Workman.

Bertsie graduated from Momence High School in Momence, Illinois. She was married to Wayne Prairie in Momence and he preceded her in death in 1998 and she later married James Jeffrey in Pike County, West Virginia and he preceded her in death in 2011. Bertsie worked for many different companies during her life. She was an avid quilter and making crafts.

She is survived by her children, Teddi (Tony) Lewis of Momence, IL, Trace (Carol-Lynn) Prairie of Costa Mesa, CA, Kathy (John) Depoister of Birchwood, WI, Susie (Frank) Iacono of Romeoville, IL, Katie (Scott) Birkholz of Romeoville, IL and Richie (Cathie) Prairie of Stow, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; step children, Jim (Jill) Jeffrey of Rice Lake, John (Terri) Jeffrey of Rice Lake, Deb (Ed) Huebsch of Barron, WI and Trina Abbott of West Virginia; 5 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Prairie and James Jeffrey; her parents and a grandson, Joshua Depoister.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Birchwood, WI and Momence, Illinois. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is in charge of the arrangements.
