Rodney Robert Brust, age 75, of Dresser, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at United Hospital St. Paul, Minnesota.

He was born on June 23, 1950 in Amery, Wisconsin to parents, Robert and Betty (Patrin) Brust. He was married to Sue (Simpson) Brust on December 17, 1971 and they were blessed in 1972 with a daughter, Jennifer, and in 1977 a son, Jeff.

Rod went to school in St. Croix Falls and then enlisted in the Navy and spent 4 years overseas in the Korean and Vietnam war. He was stationed in Long Beach California where he met Sue and they got married and moved to Dresser Wisconsin. He worked for the lumberyard in Dresser, Andersen Windows, part time police officer for Dresser, St. Croix Falls and Osceola until he started working for the St. Croix Falls school district as Maintenance for Dresser and St. Croix Falls. He always enjoyed his time hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite was dressing up on Christmas Eve as Santa and watching all the children get so excited to see Santa. Sue was by his side as Mrs. Clause.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue; daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Spanton; son, Jeff; grandchildren, Mason and Rachel Brust; brothers, Jack (Debbie) and Kirk; sister, Sue (Tom); and nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held for Rodney 11:00 AM Friday, May 29, 2026 at Grandstrand Funeral Home of Osceola, Wisconsin. Visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow directly after at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Dresser.
