In Memory of Rose A. Snyder

July 30, 1933 - April 19, 2025

Rose Agnes Snyder, age 91 passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 30, 1933 in Delroy, Ohio (Carroll County) to John and Anna Csuti. She was the youngest of eight children. Her parents died when Rose was a small child and she and one brother, Frank, and one sister, Anne, were raised by their oldest sister and brother-in-law Veronica and John Gwynn. Rose was active in school, and in high school she was homecoming queen and class valedictorian.

In the early ‘60s, Rose and her first husband, Si Brock moved to Cumberland, Wisconsin to build a business, Falcon Drill Company, Inc. As a young businesswoman, she was busy at work and with her children, and she still found time to be active in her church. She was a strong Christian, who loved the Lord. She served on church committees throughout her life, and she was the First United Methodist Church junior choir director in Cumberland for many years. She loved playing the piano, even though she never learned to read music; she could play anything by ear.

Rose was known and loved by many, and mom to many. She was active in the community and was also Grand Marshall in Cumberland’s Rutabaga parade where her grandchildren were so excited to ride with her and wave to the crowds. She had a delightful sense of humor and an amazing laugh. In her younger days, she loved bowling with a great group of friends and also dressed for parades in a Falcon-costume: Little tiny-legs under a big Falcon costume just waddling down the parade route!

Rose was known for her letter writing, a rare trait. If you ever sent her a letter or note she kept and treasured every single one.

She is survived by her children, Ron Brock, Cindy Rouzer (Tom), Deb Lyrek (Greg), Summer Snyder, Gayle Strawn (Troy), Donna House (David), Steve Snyder, Randy Snyder (Natalie); and honorary children, Mike and Jenny Young, Roy Peterson (Renee) and Todd Bents; grandchildren, Katie Baumann (Kyle), Mike Rouzer (Mandy), Tricia Rouzer (Mark Hanson), Eric Rouzer (Keri), Adam Strawn (Tania), Jenny Raines (Andy Stock), Angie Warwick, Samantha Warwick (Marc Hauge), Jackie Warwick (Jaimie Fischer), Jessica Rhodes (Don), Mishel House (Stephen Washington), Justin House (Ally Joy), Shawn Brock, Boomer Brock; and twenty-six great grandchildren; brother Frank Csuti; sister Anne Spence; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Snyder (January 24, 2025), and first husband Si Brock; her parents, John and Anna Csuti; sons John Brock, Cecil Brock and Francis Brock; grandson Bryan Brock; daughter-in-law, Joy Brock; son-in-law, John Warwick; brothers Steve Csuti, Pete Csuti and Joe Csuti; sisters Veronica Gwynn, Katherine Russell.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 6, at First United Methodist Church in Cumberland at 10:00 am. A celebration of life will follow at Hilltop Retreat in Cumberland from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. We will be celebrating the lives of both Lloyd and Rose Snyder.

The family wants to whole-heartedly thank St. Croix Hospice for their care for both our mom and dad this past year. A thank you also to Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake for caring for her these last couple of weeks.
