Ruby Brimblecom, age 76, a longtime resident of Trego, died on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s in Duluth due to acute Leukemia.

Ruby Marilyn Bixby was born on September 2, 1941, in Spooner, to parents Forest and Mary (Anderson) Bixby.  She began her schooling at the Riverside Country School which was consolidated into the Tadpole School where she completed the 8th grade.  She then attended Spooner High School and graduated the class of 1959.  On October 15, 1960, she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Brimblecom at the Trego Congregational Church and lived in Spooner for a short time before returning to Trego.  Ruby worked for a short time as a Stenographer for G.W. Bitney before beginning a career as a cook and Bus Driver.  She would work at the Trego Dinner Bell for a few years and then worked at the Prime for over 27 years.  She also drove school bus for the Spooner School District for over 42 years.  Ruby obviously loved to cook and bake, especially cookies of which she would make trays of for her friends, family, or local fundraisers.  She also liked to trout fish, hunt deer, go shopping, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, and will be remembered for her huge hub cap collection. 

Ruby is survived by her children: Curtis (Chris) Brimblecom of Trego, Bradley (Tammy) Brimblecom of Shell Lake, Jason (Kat Peterson) Brimblecom of Trego, Kristina (Steve) Bochmann of Spooner, grandchildren: Erin, Kaitlyn, Stephanie, Kara, Ethan, Trevor, Dillan, Deanna, Amy, Amber, and  Dori, great grandchildren: Gavyn, Lily, Jazmine, Nevaeh, Jisela, Bell, Zander, and Emmet, brother Forest (Connie) Bixby of Menomonie, and by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Brimblecom, and her parents.

Graveside services for Ruby Brimblecom will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 11am, at the Earl Cemetery. 

Ruby’s family requests no flowers.
