Sharon Rosemary Jerabek, 78, of Spooner, died on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Care Partners Memory Care in Spooner after struggling with Alzheimer's type dementia for approximately six years.

She was born on November 30, 1939 in Eureka, WI to Leonard and Leone (Blair) Cismoski. She attended a one room country schoolhouse, Blue Bell School, where her mother was the teacher. After 8th grade she attended Berlin High School where she enjoyed playing the accordion and the clarinet in band. After graduating in 1956, she went to work at Oshkosh B'gosh in the secretarial pool.

On May 12, 1962 she married Donald J. Jerabek and they lived in Spooner until 1968. They moved to Mercer for a year and then to Adams-Friendship where they resided until 1977. During this time Sharon was very active with the American Cancer Society. She received a state award in 1972 for her work in the crusade against cancer.

In 1977 they moved to Spooner. Sharon started cooking for the St. Francis de Sales School lunch program. She was well known for her chili and cinnamon rolls, and other fresh baked goods. Sharon was active in the parish ladies LaSalette group and was a lector for mass for many years.

In 1984 Sharon began working at the United States Post Office in Shell Lake, WI. She worked at the front counter until her retirement in 2001. She received her beloved puppy "Mollie", a Shih Tzu, as a retirement gift from her husband.

Sharon started golfing in 1988 with the Spooner Golf Club Ladies League, she enjoyed socializing and friendships made with many local women. She gave up golf due to back problems in 2006. Sharon was an avid world traveler, going to destinations all over the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and multiple trips to Europe.

Sharon also enjoyed volunteering at the kiosk for Spooner Health System, attending plays & movies, wearing jewelry, the color purple and anything involving her three granddaughters! Watching her granddaughters' activities was very important to her, as she loved her family so much.

Sharon enjoyed playing Bridge, Dominoes, Cards and Canasta with many friends, until her dementia progressed and she was no longer able. In 2014 she started attending "Happy Day Club" our local Alzheimer's Respite Program. Here she enjoyed socializing with the volunteers and other attendees. This program was the highlight of her days and weeks!
