In Memory of Silpa Ogren


April 13, 1923 - October 29, 2021

Silpa Paulsen Ogren, 98, of Luck, WI died October 29, 2021 at the United Pioneer Home in Luck.

She was born on April 13, 1923, the daughter of Fred and Laura (Pagh) Petersen.

She attended Luck schools and graduated in 1941. After graduation she worked at the Switch Board for the Luck Telephone Co. and later at General Mills in Minneapolis.

On August 13, 1949 she married Alvin M. Paulsen and joined him in caring for his two sons, Alvin Jr. and Duane, and also operating Paulsen’s Store. From this union, Brian was born in 1952. They sold their business in 1977 after which time she worked for Olsen & Sons Drug Store for 18 years. Alvin passed away in 1991. She later married Donald Ogren in 1996.

She was baptized and confirmed at Luck Lutheran Church where she was a life-long and active member, singing in the choir for many of those years. She was also a past member of the DBS Lodge and present member of the Luck Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed many trips to both east and west coasts, Florida, Hawaii, and Branson, MO. She enjoyed her home, baking, sewing, music, and was an avid reader. Above all she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Alvin Paulsen and Don Ogren; sisters, Bernice Nyman and June French; brothers, Noble Leo Sherman and Allan James Petersen; step-sons, Duane Paulsen and Alvin Paulsen Jr.; and sister-in-law, Vivian Petersen.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Sharon); daughter-in-law, Marilyn Paulsen; grandchildren, Heidi (Steve) Doble, Andrew (Dana) Paulsen; six great grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews; also five step grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Luck Lutheran Church in Luck, WI. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home in Luck and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown.
