In Memory of Susan Fowler


January 24, 1948 - July 27, 2021

Susan Kay Fowler, age 73, of Amery, WI, died peacefully on July 27, 2021 at her home in Little Falls after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

Susan Kay Henricksen was born on January 24, 1948 in Mason City, IA to Bernhart and Lilly (Kofoed) Henricksen.

She was baptized, confirmed and a lifetime member in the Lutheran Church serving as Sunday School Superintendent, choir member and W/ELCA President.

She attended Rockwell-Swaledale High School and graduated from Wartburg College in 1970. She was an elementary school teacher for 34 years with the last 26 spent teaching 3rd grade in the Amery School District.

In 1975, she met her one true love, George Fowler, and on August 2nd of the same year they were married. To this union, they were blessed with three daughters, Alicia, Angie and Anna, of whom she was extremely proud.

During the next several decades, Sue spent countless hours supporting her family, friends and community. She loved attending her kids and grandkids sporting and music events, helping with the local Backpack Fundraiser and even started a Christian-based cancer support group. In her free time, she enjoyed belonging to several coffee groups with very dear friends, family game days and a good Hallmark movie.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 46 years, George, daughters, Alicia (Nick) Streich of Amery, WI, Angie (Tom) Hall of New Hope, MN and Anna (Josh) Sprague of Fairbanks, AK, grandchildren, Hailey (Andrew) Erickson, Lilly Streich, Sam Streich, Sawyer Sprague, Justin Hall, Finn Sprague and Ben Hall, great-grandsons, Reid and Turner Erickson and many other family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Bernhart and Lilly Henricksen, in-laws, Howard and Lavina (Cheline) Fowler, brother, John Henricksen, brother-in-law, Gerald Fowler, sister-in-law, Donna Fowler, nephew, David Fowler and niece, Jeanette Culbert.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 1:00 – 5:00 at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Little Falls Lutheran Church, 1272 – 44th Ave., Amery, WI at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior.

This would have been George and Sue’s 46th wedding anniversary.
