In Memory of Sydney Nevin

June 29, 1923 - January 11, 2022

Sydney Gene Nevin, 98, of Cumberland died, January 11, 2022, at Maple Ridge Care Center.

He was born June 29, 1923 in Cumberland, WI to Samuel and Gertrude (Warland) Nevin. Sydney joined the U.S. Army in 1943.

Sydney worked many jobs throughout his life ranging from being a mechanic to being a dairy farmer. He also hauled milk for the Turtle Lake Creamery, and was known to bring treats home on occasion. There was not anything that he could not fix with elbow grease, twine, and duct tape.

Sydney was preceded in death by his wives, Carol of almost 43 years and Phyllis of 26 years; brothers: Robert, Clyde, Richard, Darold, Wayne, LeRoy, and Lloyd; son-in-law, Albert Fox.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday March 18, 2022 at First Lutheran Church - Cumberland with Pastor Timothy Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by Anderson-Thomson Post #98 American Legion, Cumberland. Visitation will be from 1:30-2 PM.
