In Memory of Thomas M. Johnson
Thomas M. Johnson, of Chetek WI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 16, 2026. He was 82 years old. Tom was born on July 29, 1943, to Vernie and Melva (Olson) Johnson of Cameron. He thoroughly enjoyed his childhood in Cameron. It was full of activity. He rode his bike everywhere he wanted to go exploring. He played sports year around. He loved his horse and daily socializing with neighbors, friends and family. His favorite pass time was talking with others. After graduating high school, Tom entered the US Air Force where he served for 4 years.
Upon his discharge from the military, Tom married Judith Larson on January 16, 1965. They moved onto the family farm where Tom was happily self-employed. He and Judy raised their three children: Bobbi, Tommy and Candi. At age 55, Tom was forced into early retirement due to health issues. He happily spent the next two decades collecting horses which he thought to be the best years on the farm. He was an avid fan of the Packers, the Bucks and the Brewers.
Tom was an active member of Prairie Lake Evangelical Covenant Church for his entire life. Tom loved his Savior, his wife, family and friends. He will be remembered for his diligent work at his church, his fun-loving personality and his beautiful smile.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Thomas M. Johnson Jr. Surviving are his wife of 61 years: Judy, daughters: Bobbette (Jeff) Robotka and Candace (Kevin) Lane, grandchildren: Taaron Sundby, Tyler Sundby, Aidan (Sarah) Lane, Meghan Swanson, Michaela (Ben) Mayo, Saryn Lane and Rory Lane, great-grandchildren: Harlow Swanson, Esme, Petra and Viggo Lane, Norah and Adrienne Sundby, sisters: Susan (Ken) McGrath and Judy (the late Michael) Clendening, brother-in-law, cousin and lifelong friend: Albert (the late Charlotte Larson) Hickok, as well as many other relatives and friends.
