
In Memory of Thomas R. “Dick” Stewart
Thomas Richard “Dick” Stewart, age 92, of Rice Lake, WI, died Friday, November 28, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 3, 1933 in Youngstown, Ohio to Robert and Leliah (Barnes) Stewart.
Dick was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was later Honorably Discharged. He was married to Romaine Piercy on September 3, 1958 in Maple Heights, Ohio. They owned and operated a Shell Gas Station in Ohio, was a traveling salesman and also owned and operated The Wonder Spot Resort in Bruce, WI, he drove school bus for the Bruce School District for over 20 years.
His nickname was “Taco Dick” at the resort. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, hunting and talking with others. They both enjoyed watching sporting events together and was a big Ohio State football fan. He was affectionate, hard working, a good sense of humor, easy to get along with, a joker and easy going.
He is survived by wife, Romaine Stewart; a son, Scot Stewart; a daughter, Sarah Collier; 6 grandchildren, Cody (Jessi) Stewart, Spencer Stewart (Clair Moltz), Karissa (Kristian) Blumenthal, Riley Steward, Kelsey Collier (Dustin Gavinski) and Kendra Collier (Benson Elliot Lampkin); 4 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Bob Toski; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leliah Stewart; a brother, Robert Stewart Jr.; and a sister, Jacqueline Toski. A celebration of life will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 from 11AM-1PM at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI, with interment and full military rites at 2PM January 5, 2026 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
