Timothy Paul Lange, age 69, of Rice Lake, WI, died Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at his home. He was born on June 14, 1956 in Muscatine, Iowa to Byrd and Edna Lange.

Tim graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1974 (Des Moines, IA). He earned his BA and Masters degree from the University of Northern Iowa. (He wrote his thesis on Melville's Moby Dick, of which he was very proud.) He married Catherine Hoel in 1991. Tim was a water polo athlete, he enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, woodworking, crossword puzzles, golfing, reading, quail hunting, and fishing.

Tim was active in the Rice Lake Rotary Club, he cared deeply for the Rice Lake community, and was a major funder and fundraiser for the Rice Lake Aquatic and Recreation Center. He was a very caring and loving father and grandfather; the rock of the family.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Katherine Lange (Prior Lake, MN) and Mamie Lange (Hudson, WI), grandson, John Sharlow (Prior Lake, MN), sister, Pamela Larson (Nashville, TN), and his partner of 14 years, Candace Falk (Rice Lake, WI).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byrd and Edna Lange (Des Moines, IA). A celebration of his life will be held on his 70th birthday, June 14, 2026, location TBD.
