Todd Robert Barthen Sr., age 59, of Mikana, WI, died Sunday, September 27, 2026 in Barron, WI, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 10, 1967 in Eau Claire, WI to Robert and Iris (McIlquham) Barthen. Todd graduated from North High School in 1985. He entered the United States Army where he was in the Ranger Battalion and was later Honorably Discharged.

Todd worked for Paul Sheet Metal in Rice Lake and later he owned and operated Todd’s Construction for many years. He was married to Judith “Judi” Spears on November 8, 2008 in Mikana. Todd loved to work, cook, garden, fish, hunt, go camping, collect antiques/treasurers and to feed the wildlife.

Todd was very loving, thoughtful, caring, generous, determined, was a great listener and had a great sense of humor. He loved his wife with his whole heart but also loved his boys and grandson just as much. Todd thrived on his wife and would do anything for her. She was his whole world.

He is survived by his wife, Judith “Judi” Barthen; 2 sons, Todd Jr (Anna) Barthen and Devin Ekblad; 3 grandsons, Blake Jefson, Mason Jones and Aydan Jones; 2 brothers, Monte Barthen and Robert (Tammy) Barthen; his mother, Iris Marsh; his stepmother, Elaine Cravin; 3 sisters, Angela Barthen, Lynn (Merlin) Woodley and Celeste Snyder (Mike McGee); a favorite aunt, Barbie Zechmann; a special niece, Shelby Quilling and her family; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, Bob Hatfield; and his favorite cat, Chewy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Barthen; and a brother, Thomas Snyder.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026 from 12-6PM at the Cedar Lake and Grill in Mikana, WI, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
