Troy William Maassen, age 56, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday March 9, 2025 at the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.

Troy was born on August 18, 1968 to William and Bonnie (Brune) Maassen in St. Paul, Minnesota. He attended North Branch High School and graduated class of 1987. After high school and getting his CDL, Troy started driving truck for Consolidated Freight Ways for many years. In the early 2000’s, Troy enrolled at Lakewood Community College. He then drove truck for Century Fence. As of the past few years he has worked for Peterson Mill in North Branch.

Troy enjoyed fishing, target practicing, building coolers, camping and mowing lawns. His pride and joy were being an uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He took being an uncle very seriously, making sure all the kids had what they needed and learning mischievous things. Troy also loved it when all the family was together. He will be dearly missed by many.

Troy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter (Adena) Brune and Herbert (Leona) Maassen and nephew, Gabriel Sampoang.

Troy is survived by his parents, Bill (Bonnie); daughter/Goddaughter, Desseray Sampoang; sister, Kelly (Bill) Trade, Kim Wemple, LeeAnne (Rick) Harding, Barb Simon, Dawn (Wade) Johnson, Teri (Curtis) Whitling and Deon (Bob) Maassen; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at the farm on August 9, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, March 20, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Taylors Falls, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in the St. Francis Xavier cemetery, Shafer, MN.
