Valeri Barbra Duncan, age 43, of Spooner, WI, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. She was born on March 11, 1982 in Spooner, the daughter of Randy and Pattie (Meyer) Lester.

Valeri loved crafts of all types and went all out while celebrating holidays with her family. She rode horses with the 4-H program when she was younger and was active in her Brownies Troop. She was a faithful member of the Mercy Baptist Church of Roundup MT when she was living out west.

She is survived by her mother, Pattie Meyer of Shell Lake, WI; her children, Paige Duncan and Aidden Lester both of Spooner, WI; her siblings, Karen Lester of Spooner, WI, Nathan Cureau of Billings, MT, Jospeh Cureau of Absarokee, MT and McKenzie Smith of Billings, MT; and her nephews, DJ Blackwell and Jeffree Maimer.

Valeri is preceded in death by her father, Randy Lester; her brother, Scott Lester; her niece, Alexis Morrison; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Florence Lester; and her maternal grandparents, SSGT Walter Meyer Sr. and Rose Meyer.

A celebration of life was be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Cornerstone Church in Spooner.
