Vera Arlene Majeski, 101, of Shell Lake died Friday, March 17, 2017 at her home. She was born February 2, 1916 in Spooner, WI to Curtis and Lucretia (Brown) Emerson. Arlene was the only girl with three brothers; Claude, Robert and Jack. Music was a big part of the Emerson family. Arlene played guitar and piano. One of her favorite jazz artist groups was the Hot Club of France. Arlene worked as a beautician before she met and married Raymond Majeski. They were married in Spooner, WI on November 10, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2007. Arlene grew up in Spooner, but was always close to Shell Lake as her parents had a cabin on the north shore. As a teenager, Arlene liked to come to the east shore to camp. In 1958, Ray and Arlene bought property on the east shore and spent weekends and summers there. When Ray retired, they moved to Shell Lake. Arlene liked to bowl and play cards. She enjoyed swimming at the lake and in Florida as well as line dancing.

Arlene is survived by her daughters: LuRae (Bob) Christianson of Shell Lake and Patricia Clark of Stone Lake and grandson, Curtis Clark of Stone Lake, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, infant son Curtis in 1950, parents, 3 brothers and son-in-law, Jim Clark in 2002.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Skinner Funeral Home, Shell Lake WI with Father Bala officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Spooner. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
