Virginia Leona Tomesh Age 95, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, May 9, 2024 in Rice Lake surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 24, 1929 in Bloomer, WI to Edward and Stella (Kniphfer) Schwab.

Virginia attended school at Brill State Graded. She was married to Joseph Tomesh on June 22, 1948 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI. They dairy famed in Oak Grove Township for many years and also worked for Lapacinski Potato Farm for 15 years. Virginia was always by her husband's side, listening to his accordion music and life. She enjoyed embroidering, gardening and traveling. Virginia loved her little angel, her canine friend, Lily.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; 2 sisters-in-law, Adeline Tomesh and Charlotte Schwab. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Tomesh; her parents, Edward and Stella Schwab; 2 sisters, Geraldine Ebel and Darlene Beranek; 2 brothers, Virgil “Buzzy” Schwab and Duane Schwab.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen, WI. Father Joseph Kumar officiating, with interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangement.
