In Memory of Wayne Erickson


October 17, 1946 - March 4, 2022

Wayne Alfred Erickson, 75, of Turtle Lake died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Care and Rehab-Cumberland.

He was born October 17, 1946, in Turtle Lake, WI to Alfred and Leona (Strenke) Erickson.

After school, Wayne enlisted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and Germany.

He was married in Watertown, SD on May 24, 1971, to Joyce Erickson who preceded him in death on April 28, 2007.

Wayne was an avid outdoorsman; he spent many years camping with his family, hunting, and fishing. He was a true Packer Fan!

He is survived by three sons, Thomas (Misty) Erickson of Bonduel, Zachary Erickson of Amery, and Leighton (Mackenzie Hughes) Erickson of River Falls; one daughter, Jasmine (Tim) Schneider of Gilmanton; three grandchildren: Jordan, Jaylin, and Eleanor; four sisters: Darlene Sebens of Cumberland, Sharon Pearson of Frederick, Beverly (Rob) Davis of Cameron, and Brenda (Chuck) Ofelt of Turtle Lake; sister-in-law: Ginger (Dave) Crotteau; brothers-in-law, Dave (Vicki) Labbe, and Dan (Deb) Labbe; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, son, James; brothers-in-law: Tom Labbe, Richard Sebens, Ronnie Pearson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Parish Hall in Cumberland with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Cumberland, WI. Pallbearers are Tim Schneider, Chuck Ofelt, Jamie Sebens, Rick Sebens, Jason Sebens, and Brent Sellent. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan, Jaylin, Nicholas, and Eleanor. Visitation will be from 11AM - 1PM Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the Parish Hall.

Following the burial there will be a lunch served at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland.
