In Memory of William “Bill” Paul Haas

He was born on January 25, 1933 in Birchwood, WI to Louis and Mary (Rohlik) Haas. Bill graduated from the Birchwood High School in 1951 and then he entered the United States National Guards in the 32nd Division and then he was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. He was married to Sharron Endwick on November 12, 1955 in Dobie, WI. Bill worked as an auto mechanic at the same garage for Einar Skar, Bill Cyr and then Chuck and Arnie Evitch at A&C Automotive. Bill was an active resident of the Village of Birchwood, a member of Impact 7 Steering Committee, the Industrial Committee and the Birchwood Lions Club. Bill was on the Birchwood Ambulance for over 25 years and was one of the first EMTs in Birchwood and was on the Birchwood Fire Department for over 30 years. Bill loved doing things for his community and being with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Sharron Haas of Birchwood; 4 sons, Kenneth Haas of Madison, WI, James Haas of Cameron, John (Cherie) Haas of Owatonna, MN and Robert Haas of Lombard, IL; 2 daughters, Nancy (Larry) Holbrook of Eleva, WI and Amy (Mark) Miller of Barron; 6 grandchildren, Heather, Crystal, Casey, Cierra, Jordan and Emily; 2 great grandchildren, Derek and Aria; a brother, Eugene (Joan) Haas of Springfield, IL; a sister, Rosemary (Ray) Baribeau of Rice Lake; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Haas; 2 brothers, Albert and Mike Haas; a sister, Mary Haas and a nephew, Mike Baribeau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, WI, with Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood, WI. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Thursday. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Birchwood Food Pantry or the Birchwood Fire Department.
