In Memory of William Haske Sr.


June 14, 1944 - December 6, 2019

William John “Bill” Haske Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, December 6, 2019 at his residence in Winter, WI.  He was born June 14, 1944 in Ladysmith, WI, the son of Edward Mark and Stella Margaret (Longly) Haske.  He was united in marriage to Teresa Marie McQuade in 1992.

Bill grew up in Winter and graduated from Winter High School.  He moved to Mundelein, IL in 1962 where he worked for Barr-Don Inc. as a machinist until 1967.  In 1968, Bill and his brother, Don owned and operated North Shore Welding and Machining until they closed in 1983.  He and his brothers Don and Tom all served as firemen with the Bonnie Brook Fire Protection District from 1969 until 1987, and Bill also was an EMT, Head of Rescue and Assistant Chief.  From 1984 until his retirement in 2005, Bill along with his brother Don, owned and operated Zupansic Tool and Die.  In retirement, Bill worked as a professional limousine driver until he moved back to Winter in 2011.  He loved Winter and all the outdoor activities the Northwood’s provided.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and ATV riding. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa of Winter; his children, Bill Haske Jr. of Beach Park, IL, Kelli (Russell) Nellis of Sugar Camp, WI, Karen (Brian Hoff) Remick of Rhinelander, WI and Brian (Shauna) Haske of Winthrop Harbor, IL; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his brothers, Don (Gloria) Haske of Wadsworth, IL and Tom (Mary Jane) Haske of Oxford, NC; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Doreen Haske; his step-father, Robert V. Ryan; his sister, Margaret; and his daughter-in-law, Jeanette Haske.

A private interment will take place in the spring at Winter Cemetery.
