In Memory of Wilmer J. Loberg

July 8, 1947 - September 28, 2023

Wilmer (Willie) J Loberg, of Cushing WI, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, September 28th, 2023 at St. Croix Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family after a hard battle with lung cancer at the age of 76.

Wilmer was born on July 8th, 1947 in Pleasant Valley WI to Oscar and Esther (Cruthers) Loberg. Willie married his wife Kathy Loberg on December 2nd, 1967, then went on and had 4 children. They happily celebrated their 55th anniversary in 2022. Willie worked at Stokley’s in Frederic WI and farmed for the Olson brothers, and then went on to be a Janitor at Unity Schools for 25 years, and after he retired, he farmed on their family's farm. While working on the farm he attended many auctions where he made many connections with different communities. On the farm he milked dairy cows, raised pigs, and then went on to have donkeys and beef cows.

Willie’s grandchildren meant the absolute world to him, he never failed to make them laugh by sharing his many jokes and stories. Willie always welcomed everyone to a cup of coffee and a friendly conversation. Willie knew everyone and everyone knew him. Willie enjoyed playing horseshoes, and bowling both in a league and with his family and friends, watching any football game, and all truck and tractor pulls, when he wasn't pulling himself. Willie every year went to Tomah WI, for the national truck and tractor pull. He absolutely loved it! Family was his priority, anything he did was with or for his family.

Willie is preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Kathy Loberg; parents, Oscar and Esther (Cruthers) Loberg; mother and father-in-law, Wallace and Ruth (Erickson) Thompson; brothers, William and Donald Loberg and brother and sister-in-law's.
