ST. CROIX COUNTY — A car versus snowplow crash occurred on I-94 in St. Croix County that has left one person with critical injuries, according to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.
(Press Release) — On Friday, February 8, 2019, at approximately 11:58 a.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol, Eau Claire Post received a report of a car versus snowplow crash on I-94 westbound near mile marker 27 in St. Croix County near Woodville. A 2002 Saturn automobile driven by Shane A. Dold, age 33, from Apple Valley, MN lost control and struck the rear of a 2010 International snowplow operated by the St. Croix County Highway Department. The driver of the plow was identified as Dennis L. Benson, age 68 from Baldwin, WI. Dold was critically injured and was transported by aeromedical helicopter to Regions Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
Assisting agencies included United Fire, Baldwin Ambulance, and Wisconsin DNR.
