Polk County Launches Free Car Seat Safety Program To Support Local Families

POLK COUNTY — Polk County Community Services, in Partnership with St. Croix Tribal Public Health, is now offering a new Car Seat Safety Program to help parents and caregivers ensure that their children’s car seats are properly installed and appropriate for their age and size. The program offers free car seat inspections and installations by trained personnel.

Car seat inspections/installations are by appointment only. Each appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes and takes place at the Government Center at 100 Polk County Plaza in Balsam Lake. Before scheduling an appointment, families should know the number of car seats needing inspection or installation, the type of each seat, the age of the children who use them, and the make, model, and year of the vehicle.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, residents can contact the program directly at 715-485-8401.
